Section 4: Herp Supplies Online:
Tortoise food (grass hay, pasture mix, Opuntia cactus, etc.):
- The Oxbow Hay Company -- This is a great source for Grass Hay, if your local feed store does not carry it. Oxbow sells timothy and orchard grass hay and will ship via UPS Ground to anywhere in the USA and Canada.
- Peaceful Valley Farm Supply - Organic Garden and Farm Supplies -- This is a good source for pasture mixes for grazing tortoises.
- Plants of the Southwest -- Based in New Mexico, they sell a variety of grass seed that can be mixed to produce good sulcata tortoise forage in outdoor pens.
- Rio Grande Cacti -- This is a small business located near Sulcata Station, so we like to help them out. Order a few pads of Ficus indica (spineless opuntia cactus) from them and plant them somewhere that your tortoises can't reach them. After the pads take root, you'll have all the cactus your tortoises will need.
- Cactus and Succulent Plant Mall -- This site has links for cactus suppliers and nurseries all over the world.
Heating Pads for Sulcata Sheds or Barns:
- Pro Products - Specialized Habitat Control Systems -- This company sells Pro Heat radiant heat panels that are useful for providing heat to indoor enclosures.
- Osborne Industries -- This is the source for Stanfield® Heat Pads, the best way to keep sulcata tortoises warm inside tortoise sheds.
General Reptile Pet Supplies:
